Meet Rebecca/History of Quilting

Presentation Bio

Rebecca is a Certified Quilt Judge with the Canadian Quilters Association

(CQA/ACC). Having worked and practiced in the textile arts for over 40 years,

Rebecca brings a deep understanding and practical experience of multiple craft

genres and quilting history.

Rebecca has two popular presentations. “Quilting Through the Ages” which

explores the cultural significance and artistic foundations of quilting from the 14th

century to the present, and “What the Judge is Thinking?” which offers

considerations encouragement and tips for the quilt show entrant.

Rebecca’s leadership, creativity and pedagogy are demonstrated by guild

leadership, teaching workshops, authoring articles and serving as past CQA/ACC

Jury Coordinator. Supporting charitable initiatives related to quilting and textile

arts is an important component of Rebecca’s quilting journey.

Rebecca is available to judge large and small quilt shows and deliver

presentations.

Rebecca resides in Victoria, BC, where she is active in the quilting community.
